Review of Made in Chelsea: NYC Episode 3

Hellooo again fellow Made in Chelsea fans, sorry this post is late, been slacking over the bank holiday! Anyway, last episode left off with a few exciting things to look forward to in this episode! Binky's birthday, Billies and Stevie's date ANNND the unfolding of the Jules, Lucy and Rosie love triangle... Time to watch week 3 now!

I'm going to start off with Mark Francis, THAT HOT DOG SCENE GOT ME. It got me good... Even more than #neverheardofnandos last season. I love Mark Francis so much, he could really have his own spin off show if he ever leaves MIC.

Louise and Alik...
They finally got some alone time as Rosie was on a boat with Binky, Mark and Victoria! (before the hot dog incident obvs) Alik just seems the most genuine guy to have ever been on the show and they are so suited for each other... or is it just me that thinks that? I really hope their relationship lasts longer than just this series, think it would be great to see him on the streets of Chelsea!

Riley, Riley, Riley... She has been soooo grumpy since arriving! Especially around Stevie and Jamie... YOU ARE IN NEW YORK WOMAN! Do you know how many British females such as myself would kill to be in your position, being paid to just be in New York? At least crack a smile!

Spencer vs. Stevie...
After Billies date last week with Spencer (still not happy about this btw) Stevie finally asks her on a date this episode and the date is very Stevie-esque... Basically really really cute and you just want to squeeze his chubby cheeks! Although I really want Stevie to get the girl I love the fact it is the girl playing the guys for once! Spencer is finally getting a taste of his own medicine and it's brilliant to see!

Also in the last episode Spencer told Billie that Jamie is gay... smooth words right there Spenny! So she told Proudlock and Stevie and they came up with this great idea to prank both Jamie and Spencer by saying she has a really hot friend (Carson) who she wants Jamie to meet! And he just fell for it by saying "I don't care, I just want a date!" HAHA. When Jamie gets the jist of going on after Billie introduced him to Carson he goes all awkward and doesn't know what to say, then (with a hint of curiosity and confusion in his eyes) he brushed off Carson's invitation by saying "I wish I was gay" oh Jamie.

Binkys Birthday Part 1
Binky's older sister is an artist, so for a little birthday surprise she got Binky, Louise and Rosie painting some "life art" with a male model... aka willy drawing! They were all giggling nervously at the situation, it's such a weird concept to all us non-art cultured people... I was surprised at Rosie laughing though though, as she is a "history of art" graduate! Or is that me being dim? Either way he must have felt so insecure about his manhood, taking off his dressing gown in front of 4 women and to have 3 of them just laughing... If that was me, I would have ran out the room covering my bits! Remember "there's more to him than just his willy"

JULES
This shocked me a little bit, I know he was being a bit of a player but... "polyamorous" I literally paused 4OD and Googled what this word meant, and it means to have multiple intimate relationships and having the consent from all those involved... So being an honest man slut basically? Ergh, creepy. He's also in a 2 YEAR OPEN RELATIONSHIP. How do you be with someone that long and not have feelings or want to be exclusive? And he was talking to her openly about wanting to sleep with another girl... Oh god I can't wait for the others to find this information out next episode!

Binkys Birthday Part 2
This was a nice little surprise! Gabriella is one of the original cast of Made in Chelsea so her doing a guest appearance was literally the best surprise Binky's sister could have pulled off! Although, I still don't like her singing and she seemed quick on the game to try and prove she's done better now than when she was with Ollie... I've honestly never been a fan of her. I would love to see Caggie do an appearance though!

Next time...
Sam has flown over to join them in New York wooooooo!
Rosie to discover that Jules is polyamourous...
Stevie and Spencer STILL "fighting" over Billie like she's a bit of meat (honestly don't see what the fuss is about)

Review of: L'Oreal Excellence Blonde Legend!

Like many unnaturally blonde people I have tried what feels like MILLIONS of different dyes and products on my hair hoping that one day I will find one that works a miracle and honestly I've never found that one product... at the time of writing this post I haven't touched bleach since the beginning of May (4 months ago!) as it really ruined my hair the last time I used it as you can see below...

So my roots have gotten pretty long, I'd say about 2 inches... they look pretty gross but I'm happy I have given my hair a few months of a breather as it's in much better condition now! I have naturally very dark brown hair as you can see, so unluckily for me the only way I can lighten my roots is by bleaching, where as those with naturally lighter shades can get away with a tint.

So I stumbled across this new L'Oreal dye when shopping the other day called "Blonde Legend" (I am absolutely loving the name of the new range too btw!) so I did a quick Google on my phone to see if there were any reviews but nada. So I am going to give mine!

I am using the "Natural Beige Blonde 8.03" colour - and on the back of the box where it shows you what results they have predicted they have a result for black to dark brown, and there's quite a difference in lightening and it looks a nice colour so I thought why not give it a go!

The front of the box also claims to have "Pro-Keratin, Ceramide & Collagen" which are all meant to benefit the health of your hair and it also says that it "strengthens, protects and replenishes" that with the amount it claims to lighten seems almost too good to be true right!? Right...

The box comes with a protective serum that you put on your hair before applying the dye, so I applied the protective serum to the ends of my hair as they're the most fragile parts of my hair. Once I had done putting all the serum on I begun to squeeze to two tubes of the dye together, I instantly smelt the familiar smell of bleach, which they didn't claim upfront but if you read the small print it does say it contains peroxide... I wouldn't get annoyed with that though as they were going to need some form of lightening agent to achieve the colour they are stating so I proceeded in mixing the solutions and applied the mixture to my hair.

Once it was all applied to my hair I sat and waited around for a tad longer than 30 minutes (which is the time they recommend) as my roots are sooo dark. When I thought enough time had passed I washed the mixture from my hair and before I dried my hair I could already see my roots had turned orangey. Not even a blonde bassy orange but a dark orange colour...

Overall I would definitely not recommend this to people with dark brown to black hair... If you have dark brown or black hair you will have to use a high volume bleach I'm afraid, it's the only thing that has ever worked for myself when it comes to root touch ups... I reckon this would work really well on lighter shade of hair. One benefit I did get from this dye is my hair still feels healthy meaning the protective serum did it's job! Even though I didn't get the desired result I didn't ruin my hair in the process which is always a bonus when using a peroxide based product!

Feminism...

Ahh, so the "f" word. Feminism. A very controversial topic. One that very easily sparks up heated conversation. So let me start with the Oxford Dictionary's definition of feminism, which is "the advocacy of women’s rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes" so basically having equal rights to men, that is a cause I can understand, but it seems to me that a majority of modern day feminists seem to have forgotten what the original cause was for... Feminists were not men haters - they didn't want men out of their life's, they weren't all lesbians and they weren't out to gain power over men or to create a role reversal, they just wanted everyone to be treated the same, so that we're all equals... We should all be feminists and not let anyone treat us any less than an equal *sassy finger snap*

Before feminism came about in the 19th century, women were treated so horrifically by men, as if they were objects that men had complete control over. But back then it was the norm and not many people thought it was unacceptable and they just allowed the men in their lives to treat them in those ways. So I really respect the women who actually stood up and said that it wasn't acceptable and that women deserve rights too, as they achieved so much and came so far...

Thanks to Feminists:
We have the right to vote
We have access to credit
There is easily accessible and effective contraception
We can earn a decent wage and can have economic security without needing a husband
There's punishment for husbands who beat and rape their wives, as it is no longer legal to do so
People no longer shun divorced women
We have access to higher education if we wish to do so
There are so many more career opportunities available to us
We can file a sexual harassment claim when treated inappropriately in the workplace
It's illegal to fire women from their jobs if they fall pregnant...

Just read those things and let them sink in. Our life's as females would be so different if feminists hadn't fought for them rights, but we don't know any different in our current generation - we're all too ignorant and take what we have for granted without even realising that we are doing so, which in my opinion is a sad thought.

Every female should be thankful for what feminists have achieved for us women. Looking at how they have effected my life without directly doing so, I for one wouldn't have the opportunity to study at University, I wouldn't have my part time admin job, I wouldn't have been able to have my phone in my name... All of that if it weren't for feminists! They have made our lives what they are today and we have no idea how much they suffered before achieving these rights but they worked hard enough to stop us from having to find out.

So those extreme feminists you only find on the internet really need stop dragging the word "feminism" in the dirt by complaining about the most pointless things you can think of... They're the reason modern day feminists are laughed at, not because they claim to be a feminist but why they call themselves a feminist.

Both of the pictures above are ridiculous. How are either of them classed as feminism?
The first one in my eyes is anti-feminism because she is basically saying she feels bad that men don't cat-call her... I know she probably means for men to stop cat-calling women in general than to start doing it to her, but her reasoning is not because it's degrading to women, but because they don't perv on her and that makes her feel inadequate. Really?
Then the second image is all kinds of stupid and I really hope it's really well photo-shopped or a joke because that is the most ridiculous claim I have ever heard. How are we most affected by climate change!?

Then there is "the women against feminism" which is equally just as sad as the extreme feminists. Do you want to go back to the 18th century when women had no rights? Where your husband could rape and beat you and no one would batter an eyelid? Having a ridiculously low paid job, where the men could sexually harass you how they please and you not having the ability to do anything about it? But it's okay because you have your femininity? Then there's the ignorant ones, feminism is about equality. Not gaining entitlements for being a woman, and not to be superior to men. People really need to do their homework on this topic.

I, myself believe in equal rights for both men and women, so I suppose that makes me a feminist. However, I let my boyfriend buy me things (only if he wants to do so, ofc), I care about my appearance, I read female magazines, I give in to the female stereotype quite a lot. But that's how I choose to live my life, that doesn't stop me wanting equal rights!

Sorry for the rant!

Review of Made in Chelsea: NYC Episode 2

Hello lovelies, I really enjoyed reviewing the first episode of the new Made in Chelsea series so I'm back again to do the second episode! Exciting stuff.

First episode was quite plain, quite what you expect on the first episode of a series. Wasn't bad - but it wasn't rimmed with excitement... HOWEVER episode two looked very promising for some juiciness from the preview of the episode. Billies date with Spencer, Alex coming to New York, the double date with Louise and Rosie... Yes I am mentally ready for this! Buzzing.

I'll start of with the Cheska and Fran news, as I didn't mention them at all in my last post. They're leaving New York already? Oh well. #sorrynotsorry I find them both quite bland. Next!

Louise's date with Alik and Rosie's blind date with Jules...
Well this date was definitely Made in Chelsea style... all shades of awkward! Louise really should have went out with Alik on her own. When Alik comes out with that their both beautiful I cringed sooo much at that, then they both giggled and blushed like school girls after he said it, cringe x2. You can tell us Brits aren’t used to guys like that! Then Rosie made the date a bit interview esque... Oh god Rosie, why? Don't just throw questions like that out there just be natural lksjlkjdflf. Rosie's approach to men really cringes me out. Like last episode about the Yoga instructor “I felt his dick on my back” “I really needed that” ...I really don’t think she’s had a man in her life since Hugo cheated on Millie with her, which still makes no sense at all... Plus I noticed Binky squinting a little as Rosie spoke about Jules to her and Louise, I'm feeling you Binks xo

Jules and Lucy....
Oh my god I was literally saying in my last post that I hope there’s a new guy for her! What makes it juicer is that it's at the expense of Rosie… My first thought when she *happened* to end up sitting on the bench next to Jules… that it was horribly set up - oh my god, they wouldn't be randomly filming Jules just sat on a bench for Lucy to magically turn up and sit next to him… WOULDN'T SHE WONDER WHY HE HAD A CAMERA IN-FRONT OF HIM, WITH THE CREW OF MADE IN CHELSEA BEHIND THAT CAMERA. Ahhhhhhhhh.

Then at the party for Cheska and Fran leaving New York to return to Chelsea - Rosie's eyes were so wide open really reaaaally listening to Jules' every word, ugh. And she was gushing like a school girl, stop stop please. AHH. Then when he went over to Lucy. Her face, oh my God. Golden. Lucy's so much smoother around guys than Rosie, no wonder it looks like Jules prefers Lucy…

Urgh Billie.
I liked the look of her in the first episode like "yay, new person" but she quickly turned that around this episode. It was suggested her and Stevie should go to the Statue of Liberty by Proudlock as neither of them had been before... then she goes with Spencer. Oh hell no! Look at Spencer's hair though.

ALEX COMING TO NEW YORK
Totally unfair on Binky. He knows they've broken up, why is he making it his priority to still try to see her normally and not letting her move on with her life and approach him as friends when she’s ready. WHY DID SHE GO TO MEET HIM ANYWAY. I know Jamie's news cleared things up that Alex is still a player but she still went before that... Silly Binks, was so happy to see her walk away though when she saw him leaving at the airport! But wow, the Tara news. I was half right in my last post about what Alex could have done to upset Jamie! It wasn't an orgy BUT it did involve Alex's penis... Why does he cause so much drama with that one body part, bleh.

NEXT TIME
Binky's Birthday Surprise!! Oooooo!
Jules, being a PLAYA. Tut, tut, tut... True to your word you say?
Billie and Stevie's date... Another American PLAYA. I reckon neither of them will get with her, I think she just likes attention.

Oh and Stephanie Pratt rumoured to be doing Celebrity Big Brother... Personally not a fan of Big Brother but that means she would be returning to England? Oh please reunite her and Stevie, they were so god damn CUTE. I give them the award of the best functioning couple to have ever starred on Made in Chelsea. Stuff Billie!!!

Liebster Award!

So today I received a message from my friend Abi saying she has tagged me in her latest blog post to be a part the Liebster awards (woooo!!)

Honestly, my first reaction was "wat is dis" but after having a read through her post (which you should go check out as she's great! - Meet me in Mayfair) I discovered it's a tag for newbie bloggers with under 200 followers to help get them and others recognition! Looks like fun so why not!?

Abigail's Questions!

1. WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVOURITE MOMENT OF 2014 SO FAR?
My first festival - Global Gathering! Made so many memories whilst I was there that I will never forget!

2. WHO IS YOUR ROLE MODEL?
See when I read this question I honestly don't know who I would say, then I tried thinking of people but then I would only be saying it for this post... I have celebrities who inspire me with clothing and make up such as Millie Mackintosh, Alexa Chung and Lauren Conrad. Then people like Zoella who inspired me to write a blog as a hobby and so on!

3. IF YOU FROM 5 YEARS AGO WERE TO MEET YOU NOW, WHAT WOULD THEY THINK?
Me and Abi were literally talking on the phone about this a few days before she posted this, so I know, know she chucked this one in there for me, I feel honoured! *hair flick*
We have known each other for years... When we were around 14 we were in "the phase" yup, looking at us both now that is a REALLY weird thought... But me 5 years ago, really liked rock music - not just good rock that I would still listen to occasionally now like Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nirvana or Guns n' Roses (still fancy Slash quite a bit even if he is in the next Spongebob movie...) but stuff like Bring Me The Horizon, Bullet For My Valentine and so on...shudder. To sum it up, 5 years is a long time and I'm pretty positive 14 year old me wouldn't have liked current me and vice versa...

4. WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 3 BEAUTY PRODUCTS?
I'll do one for each factor...
Hair - Coconut oil! This product saved my blonde locks after a bad experience with bleach!
Make Up - Liquid eyeliner! Couldn't live without it!
Body - L'Oreal Sublime Self Tanner - it has shimmer, shimmer!

5. WHAT MADE YOU START BLOGGING?
In all honestly, it was realising how much I enjoyed writing essays at college. That sounds so odd as everyone else in my class really dreaded essays but I put so much effort into them and they always ended up being waaaaaaaaay too long, being full of my opinions and rants where I had gotten carried away, there were a few times where I had been asked by my teachers sometimes to try and shorten future essays... One essay that comes to mind is one where we were analysing music videos and I'd gotten soooooo carried away... I had used so many music videos for examples and think it was between 5,000-6,000 words!!

6. WHAT TV SHOW ARE YOU LOVING AT THE MOMENT?
I'm putting two (sorry Abs) it would have to be Made in Chelsea and 2 Broke Girls! Love them both so incredibly much! Love a bit of Kat Dennings.

7. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR STATEMENT LOOK? (BEAUTY & FASHION)
Well make-up I always have always rocked the winged liquid eyeliner look, probably always will... (if only I looked as good as Alex Vause, ugh #womancrush)

As for fashion, I'm normally a very casual person day to day - more often than not I will be rocking leggings or jeggings with something else.. but I adore my leather jacket so much, it could make any outfit look that tiny bit more fabulous.

8. WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS TIME?
Hopefully working as a journalist somewhere London based, living outside of London and tubing it in and maybe having started my own little family - I would want to be a working mum or even maybe working at home and multi-task... Possibilities are endless it's scary to think!

9. WHAT IS YOUR DREAM JOB?
I have always liked to read a good magazine, from a very young age - working for a magazine was always my dream job. However in year 7 or 8 I remember vividly telling a girl who was meant to be my friend with that I'd like to maybe write for a magazine one day and she pretty much laughed in my face and said it was never going to happen so that dampened my spirits a bit. She probably can't even remember it as it would be about 7 or 8 years ago now... But hey, I ended up going down the film root till this time last week I had a quarter life crisis (that's definitely a thing btw) I realised I was dreading doing film at uni and having my grades I can see I did best at written than the actual creating of the films and I enjoyed written more so I called up my place where I'd accepted an unconditional offer and declined it putting myself into clearing... I am now on a Journalism and Media course and I feel so much better for it. Moral of the story is f*ck what people think, I'd much rather do what I love and be happy than be unhappy trying to impress people who feel the need to judge anyway.

10. THREE THINGS YOU'VE RECENTLY BOUGHT THAT JUST WEREN'T WORTH THE MONEY?
Don't think these are too recent but they come to mind...
Colour B4 - I got this so I could get dye out of my hair extensions, it worked but at a cost! It smelt horrific, my extensions STUNK. I only wore my extensions once more before chucking them as the quality had just gone bad too.. so much regret.
I bought these brown heel boots from the New Look sale, they're gorgeous but they have these woollen bits on meaning I'm going to have to wait till winter to be able to wear them!
I also have a habit of buying more make up or beauty products when I don't really need it, in desperate need of a shelf to put all my products on as they're all hidden away in my wardrobe currently too! Other than that I honestly can't think of anything else that I have regretted buying recently!

11. THIS IS YOUR SPOTLIGHT TO GIVE YOUR OPINION ON ANY CURRENT CULTURAL/SOCIAL/FEMINIST TOPIC, GO!
Free the nipple counts right? I love Cara Delevingne, who is the reason I have any idea what this is, but I'm not 100% sure I agree with the campaign. Women's boobs are considered sexual objects, they are used to cause sexual arousal... However they are also there to breast feed children which is natural and shouldn't be frowned down upon at all. I think the nipple when it comes to feeding your baby should be free without people batting an eyelid, however just walking around with them out just seems odd to me. I know the campaign isn't so women can do that, it's for equal rights to men but their nipples are useless... Ours aren't. I don't know, very controversial topic that I'm very split on..

Here's who I tag...

My Top 10 Must-Haves!

I am quite a drugstore-savvy person when it comes to my beauty products, I rarely ever use high-end brands and when I buy them, they just sit there and look pretty #studentproblems...

Anyway, over the years I've tried various different products and these are the ones I've learnt I cannot live without and will definitely buy again once they have ran out!

Ever since I was 15 and started having an interest in make-up I always rocked the cat-eye liquid liner, I have always been quite a liquid eye-liner fanatic! However back then I was jobless so I was on the look-out for super affordable make-up and I stumbled across this beauty. Now 4 years on I still use it as my go to product for liquid liner, I've tried gel liners, pen liquid liners, etc but none of them have lived up to this. I find it so easy to apply unlike the pen liquid liners and once it's dried it doesn't leave black rings around your eyes like the gel eye-liners do. It's long lasting as well, very rarely has it rubbed off by the end of the day. Definitely would give this a 10/10!

2. Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation
All I can say really is this is my favourite drugstore foundation. I JUST LOVE IT SO MUCH.

I've been using this ever since I started caring more about my eyebrows, I have always shaped them but now they're one of the things I focus on most when doing my make-up. It's a simple pencil, you draw over your eyebrow how you see fit, you don't need to use a lot of this to define your brows but it most definitely makes a difference. Now I have used other eyebrow products, I use this hand in hand with the powder in my Barry M Eyebrow kit, I shall most likely do another blog post to show just how easy using the two together is!
Like I said above I use this hand in hand with the Rimmel Eyebrow pencil, the powder is light and subtle so your eyebrows don't look blocky and chunky. I recommend eyebrow kits in general as you have the powder, gel and the skin coloured bit to neaten up the outside! I think this is best if you're just looking to darken your eyebrows, but if you're like me and are adding shape to your 'brows then to get that defined look a pencil for the outline is vital in my own opinion!

For years I seemed to always have them crappy little red pencil sharpeners you get from Christmas crackers in my make up bag (surely I'm not the only one, and how the heck did I even end up with them!?) anyway, regardless of the sharpener I used it was always, ALWAYS a challenge to sharpen any of my pencils, chunks would come out and clog the sharpener, preventing much further sharpening from happening. Complete pain in the arse, right!? So about a year ago I thought it would be a good idea to try the Barry M duo sharpener as it was only like £2, I have never been so impressed with a sharpener! It is soooooo easy to use! Very rarely have any of my pencils clogged the sharpener and even on the rare occasions it has, the sharpener comes a little grey stick making it a million times easier to un-clog. I have recommended it to literally everyone that would listen #ihavealifeiswear

I am pretty positive that at some time or another everyone has owned this mascara, it always reminds me of when I was 14/15, my Mum used to buy this mascara and I would very often borrow it from her. It's a brilliant and affordable mascara, it does the job adding volume and length to your eyelashes, it doesn't clump when applying. Even though the packaging is quite standard I really love the use of colours, it really makes it stand out in my make-up bag.

This is quite a new find of mine, but has instantly become a must-have. These disposable H&M lint rollers are only 99p each and they come with very pretty patterns to choose from! If you have any pets, this is brilliant to get any fur off your clothes before going out, as it's normally such a hassle to get it off you! I know personally that if I visit my Mums where she has a cream Labrador I normally leave the house with a white furry layer on my clothes!

This is another product I have been using since I first gained an interest in make-up, out of all the pencil eye-liners I have used this one is the best by far. The black is very visible without having to use it multiple time, it lasts so much longer than other pencil eye-liners and doesn't make you look like a panda within an hour of having worn it.

I discovered these beauty's a few years ago, honestly bought them because they're pink and they're prettier than the standard pair of exploitation gloves... But they work just as well as any other pair, my skin feels absolutely amazing when having used these in the bath then followed by a moisturiser! They've become a part of my routine and I would be so lost without them. Bought them multiple times, the pink is just a bonus..

    10. Soap and Glory Foam Call
The reason this is the only Soap and Glory product (other than the exploitation gloves) that I've mentioned in this list is because of how long lasting it is!! I have had the same bottle for SOOO long, all the others I have bought have come and gone but this has lasted AGES! And it smells absolutely amazing! Well worth the money!

I realised I haven't put any hair products in this at all... I literally have too many hair products I love to simply choose one of them! I really couldn't put my finger on just one...
